Created in 1867 by Pavel Kousmichoff in St. Petersburg, Kousmichoff became one of Russia’s foremost tea houses and even supplied the Tsars court. In 1917, the Kousmichoff family fled Russia and settled in Paris. This marked a turning point in the history of Kusmi teas raising them to the heights of gastronomy.
Pavel Kousmichoff and his son created a whole new range of flavored teas. The most famous is Anastasia, created in memory of the Great Duchess Anastasia, the youngest daughter of tsar Nicholas who was rumored to have survived the massacre that engulfed the rest of her family.
